Map, Compass, Navigation and GPS
Requirement: 1 day course. Annual requirement
Description: Basic navigation and map reading skills with emphasis on locating one's position on a map via UMS, Lat/Long, UTM and other methods common to mountain rescue units.
Prerequisite: None, however these skills will be used and required in other Core Training.

Basic First Aid/First Responder
Requirement: Varies in time requirements. Not offered by OMR
Description: Basic first aid and First Responder Courses offered by outside sources.
Prerequisite: Rescue, Rescue Support.

First Aid Practical and Patient Packaging
Requirement: 1 day offered once per year.
Description: Operational application of first aid skills to OMR's patient packaging, first aid equipment and wilderness environment.
Prerequisite: Rescue, Rescue Support or Field Support status.

Practice Operation
Requirement: 1 day offered once per year.
Description: Operational scenario mimicking a real mission. Emphasis on team organization/coordination, communication and SAR base operations. Provides the leadership roles for less experienced members.
Prerequisite: Rescue, Rescue Support.
